Permanent laser hair removal for men
Men are increasingly resorting to permanent laser hair removal. Their motivations are diverse and the areas different from those of women.
Isn't it embarrassing to take off your t-shirt when you have a lot of hair?
There is a solution to get rid of unwanted hair.
Hair removal with the platform Laser-SWT permanently eliminates unwanted hair.
For some, the request for laser hair removal is aesthetic while for others, a means of increasing physical abilities in a sport (e.g. swimming)

What areas are usually treated for men?
The requests concern different areas:
Neck/beard
For clearer skin and easier daily shaving.
To avoid ingrown hairs and folliculitis (benign unsightly infection common in men, particularly in phototype VI – black skin). Additionally, it is common for daily shaving to cause skin irritation.
Back
Some men have a lot of hair on their back. The demand for hair removal in this area is essentially aesthetic.
Torso
Some men suffer from having excessive body hair. Among young people, we like to have a clean chest: a generational question.
Legs
The demand for legs mainly concerns athletes (swimmers, cyclists, etc.).
Permanent hair removal is a medical treatment which will be carried out exclusively in the medical office under my responsibility and control.
What is the technology for -swt laser hair removal?
Laser-SWT technology emits light which is selectively absorbed by the melanin (pigment) contained in the hair and will destroy the bulb in depth thanks to a heat supply controlled by an internal cooling system. Hairs that can be treated are dark hairs.
Only red, blond or white hairs cannot be removed. For the latter, you have to turn to electric hair removal.
During the session, we scan the skin surface to be treated with a succession of “spots” on untanned skin. In less than a second, each pulse reaches a large number of follicles without damaging surrounding tissue.
The duration of a permanent hair removal session varies depending on the surface to be treated, sensitivity and hair density.
The number of permanent hair removal sessions depends on the area, skin type and hair color to be treated. Plan on average 8 to 9 sessions over a year for a man then a maintenance of one or two sessions per year.
Understanding the life cycle of hair
It is important to know the life cycle of our hair in order to understand how laser hair removal works and obtain the best possible results.
The hair goes through 3 phases:
- The growth phase (anagen): period where the hair grows (0.35mm/day). The hair becomes rigid (keratinization in the bulb).
- A transition phase (catagen): this phase begins when cell divisions suddenly stop. The bulb then rises to the surface of the dermis. This catagen phase lasts 2 to 3 weeks.
- The resting phase (telogen): during this phase, the hair is dead and its keratinization phase is complete. The hair will only fall out when it is dislodged by the regrowth of a new hair, when the follicle comes back to life. This telogen phase lasts between 2 and 4 months.
These growth phases begin during our intrauterine life and will last throughout our lives.
What are the results of laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal allows the definitive eradication of 70 to 80 % hairs in men.
Laser treatment will greatly reduce hair density, but will never eradicate it completely. Indeed, men naturally produce hair, depending on hormonal influences.
The ideal age for starting treatment is around thirty-five years old.
From the first session, the laser eliminates visible hairs. Hair falls out within 15 days.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
The feeling is very personal. Depending on the areas treated, the application of an anesthetic ointment can significantly reduce the unpleasant sensation.
An effective Laser-SWT hair removal treatment can cause slight redness or slight swelling on certain more sensitive parts of the body. Both disappear after a few hours.
