Permanent laser hair removal for women

Every 3 to 4 weeks, you need to wax…

You have to think ahead before putting on a swimsuit.

Impossible to put on the little short dress when it's so hot, all because you don't have hair.

Shaved, regrowth is fast and thick. When waxed with cream, the hair grows back quickly and sometimes under the skin. When waxing, you must wait until the hairs are long enough to proceed with hair removal. Furthermore, you have to go to the beautician often, which represents a significant budget.

Who doesn't dream of having a clean bikini line, legs and armpits every day of the year?

Epilation laser à Compiègne dans l'Oise - Dr Barry

There are very effective solutions to get rid of our unwanted hair permanently.

Le Clarity II, will allow us to achieve permanent hair removal.

How does so-called “permanent” laser hair removal work?

It is important to know the life cycle of our hair in order to understand the laser hair removal process and obtain the best results.

The hair goes through 3 phases:

  • The growth phase (anagen): period where the hair grows (0.35mm/day). The hair becomes rigid (keratinization in the bulb).
  • A transition phase (catagen): this phase begins when cell divisions suddenly stop. The bulb then rises to the surface of the dermis. This catagen phase lasts 2 to 3 weeks.
  • The resting phase (telogen): during this phase, the hair is dead and its keratinization phase is complete. The hair will only fall out when it is dislodged by the regrowth of a new hair, when the follicle comes back to life. This telogen phase lasts between 2 and 4 months.

These growth phases begin during our intrauterine life and will last throughout our lives.

How does the laser act on the hair?

Melamine, a colored pigment contained in the hair, captures the light beams sent by the laser and guides the light to the hair bulb, which will then be destroyed under the effect of high heat.

This process is done without damaging the skin.

The hair removal laser is effective on growing hairs, that is to say in the anagen phase, and will destroy visible hairs. Our hair does not grow at the same speed, it takes several sessions to eliminate it all.

It is not impossible that after the end of the treatment, there may be a phenomenon of slight regrowth in certain areas: previously inactive bulbs will produce hairs on an occasional basis. It's very slight but you can do one maintenance session per year to remedy it.

What are the results obtained?

All skin types can be treated without complications (no ingrown hairs or pimples).

I know how to adapt the laser to each skin type and each complexion.

The number of sessions will vary depending on various parameters, such as the amount of hair growth or the hair cycle. After 4 to 6 weeks, or approximately 5 sessions, nearly 80% of the hairs will have been destroyed. Only white and blond down will persist.

White, red and very fine hairs can be removed with electric hair removal.

What areas are usually treated with laser hair removal?

The areas usually treated with laser hair removal are:

  • Upper lip (never wax or shave this area)
  • Chin (never wax or shave this area)
  • Breasts
  • Jersey
  • Inter-gluteal groove
  • Legs
  • Forearm
  • Arm
  • Armpits
  • Microcysts in hairy areas

We scan the skin surface to be treated with a succession of “spots” on untanned skin. Very quickly and efficiently, each pulse reaches a large number of follicles without damaging surrounding tissues.

The duration of a permanent hair removal session

The duration of a session varies depending on the surface to be treated, sensitivity and hair density.

The number of permanent hair removal sessions

The number of sessions depends on the area, skin type and hair color to be treated. It takes 6 to 8 sessions on average.

From the first session, approximately 20% of the hair is eliminated. Hair falls out within 15 days. Plan on average 6 to 8 sessions over a year.

Does permanent hair removal hurt?

The feeling is very personal. Depending on the areas treated, applying an anesthetic ointment one hour before the permanent hair removal session can significantly reduce the unpleasant sensation.

An effective treatment can cause slight redness or slight swelling on certain more sensitive parts of the body (bikini, lips, etc.). But it disappears after a few hours.
